UPDATE (May 18, 2017)
Just two days after T-Mobile rolled the Android Nougat 7.0 update for the LG Stylo 2, Verizon has now decided to roll out the update the smartphone on their network. The Verizon variant is called the Stylo 2 V, as the network provider likes adding letters to the names of devices whenever possible.
The update has a build number VS83520b and brings in all of the Android Nougat features including multi-window, customizable quick setting tiles, notification bundling & quick replies with a few LG-added features like trash folder whilst deleting pictures from Gallery, added fonts, and themes.
The update is rolling out as an OTA one, so it might take some time to reach your device. But if you are impatient, you can always head over to the Settings menu and check for the update manually.
Being one of the slowest OEMs in the market, it takes a while before LG actually releases an update and that too a significant one. With already a bunch of smartphones in the market that run on the latest Android interface right out of the box, LG seems to be in the process of releasing Nougat updates to their older lineup of devices which might be compatible with the same. The LG Stylo 2 Plus is one such device which is going to run Android Nougat through a T-Mobile update like we expected it to be back when it was spotted on Geekbench a few months ago.
Customers of the LG Stylo 2 Plus have something to rejoice as T-Mobile has finally announced an update to the latest Android interface for users who are locked onto their carrier. The update is being currently rolled out as we speak which shifts the device firmware to V55020a updating it to Android 7.0 Nougat. Since the release is staged, it might take a week to hit your device or you could just manually check for the update in order to confirm.
