Alibaba has once again made a great profit from Single’s Day sale held on November 11th. To be precise, the company has set a new record by selling over $25 billion of products. It was the Chinese biggest online shopping date and this helped the company to set a new height. This is a 40 percent jump from the last year’s figures.
The retailer hit a new record by making $18 billion in just 13 hours on Saturday, compared to the last year’s record of $17.8 billion in 24 hours.
Alibaba offered discounts on a variety of items, from household to electronic gadgets, everything was made available during the Single’s Day, 11.11.
This year’s 11/11 first started with around $7 billion of goods sold in the first 30 minutes of the day alone. Mobile users have reportedly built more engagement on this day. According to Alibaba, 90 percent of the sales were made on mobile; the same metric made about 82 percent for 2016 and 69 percent in 2015.
Apart from the sales’ stats, other valuable stats include Alibaba Cloud that managed to make 325,000 orders. Also, Alipay processed 1.5 billion payment transactions, up 41 percent. The stats show 167 merchants generated over $15.1 million sales each; 17 merchants surpassed $75.4 million each; 6 merchants surpassed $150.9 million each.
