Performance comparison: Galaxy S9 Plus VS Galaxy S8 Plus

31 March 2018 2

The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus took place at MWC 2018 and has stolen the hearts of many users. However, Samsung did manage to pull off an amazing feat with its Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, leaving the S9 Plus to fill its shoes. Well, most users are in a quandary, wondering if they should upgrade from their Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones to the Galaxy S9 Plus. If you find yourself in this predicament, the wait is finally over and the benchmarks are out.

While benchmarks only test synthetic performance, they are also indicative of what you can expect in real-world performance which is why they serve as a good yardstick for judging the performance of devices. The list of benchmarks includes AnTuTu, Geekbench, GFX Bench, 3D Mark Basemark OS II, and Speed Test. Both devices were the Exynos variants, which are very close in terms of their performance to their Snapdragon counterparts. One of the major differences between the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is in terms of its SoC and RAM. Have a look at the chart below for a detailed list of specifications.
