The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is one of the most popular smartphones and rightly so. Its camera performance puts it in competition with flagship devices. The company even announced an Android P Developer Preview for the device which ultimately ended up being leaked before the scheduled date. Its popularity has made the company release a new limited-edition model of the Mi Mix 2S. This is an Art Special Edition of the smartphone. For this to materialize into a reality, Xiaomi worked closely with the British Museum to ensure perfection.
The main inspiration behind this special Art Edition of the device is the Renaissance period of the British Museum as well as majolica pottery. So, how is this edition different from the regular one? Well, in terms of phone construction, and even specifications, there is no difference. The difference lies in the specifically designed protective case, exclusive Renaissance themes, and a customized box package with a free wireless charger. The back panel of the device also bears the British Museum logo on it.
The innards of the device remain exactly the same as that found on the regular Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. This includes the Snapdragon 845 chipset, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone has a dual 12MP + 12MP rear camera to ensure stellar image quality.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Art Edition will be available for purchase in China between May 10th and May 16th at 8 PM local time at a price of 4,299 Yuan (approximately $675). There’s still no news if this special edition of the smartphone will only be limited to markets in China or if it will be made available to other markets as well.
