Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite launching as Galaxy S Lite Luxury today in Beijing with Snapdragon 660 SoC

21 May 2018 4

The rumoured Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite will be launching today on the 21st of May, 2018. However, it’s not actually going to be called the Galaxy S8 Lite and will be launching as the Samsung Galaxy S Lite Luxury. The device bears the model number SM-G8950 and is a smartphone which is geared towards the upper mid-range smartphone market. It seems like a leaked poster may have confirmed its name as well as its time and venue of launch.

According to this leaked poster, the Samsung Galaxy S Lite Luxury launch event will take place in Beijing at the Jingdong headquarters at 1pm local time. Sources claim that only 100 people have been invited to attend this launch event today. We’re still unsure about the exact specifications of the Galaxy S Lite Luxury. However, rumour has it that it will sport a 5.8-inch infinity display with an FHD+ resolution. The smartphone is speculated to be powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC and is coupled with 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage.

The device will have a 16MP rear-facing camera along with an 8MP front-facing one. The fingerprint scanner will be on the back panel, exactly like how it is on the Samsung Galaxy S8 Duo. The smartphone will be fueled by a 3,000mAh battery and will come with Android Oreo out of the box. Leaks suggest that the Galaxy S Lite Luxury smartphone will be available in two colour variants, black and red.
