Huawei has been able to grab quite a large share of the smartphone market as well as a large consumer base primarily owing to its success with its P20 series of smartphones. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro are both flagship devices which were launched sometime in March. Apart from having many characteristic features of 2018 flagship smartphones like a bezel-less display and a notch, however, both devices are better known for their camera performance. Did you know that they top the list in DxOMark?
However, for a company, demand for a product and sales are really what matters. The President of Huawei’s smartphone division, He Gang, has provided some sales numbers which will definitely give us a better insight into how popular the Huawei P20 smartphones really are. According to He Gang, over 6 million units of the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro have been shipped in the past two and a half months. In itself, this is a pretty outstanding number, but does it meet the expectations which the company had for its P20 smartphones?
In comparison to the previous generation of P20 smartphones, global sales of the P20 series have increased by an amazing 81%. In fact, the company has seen a growth not only in the Chinese market but also overseas. If the margin of increase in China is 63%, the growth overseas is 150%. However, it seems like Huawei is looking to accomplish even more than it already has with its goal of shipping over 20 million units of its P20 smartphones in 2018.
