HMD Global has just unveiled the Nokia X5 smartphone in China, and the device is expected to hit the global markets soon. The company is planning to launch the phone globally after the launch of the Nokia X6.
Reports suggest that the Nokia X6 will be arriving in international markets as the Nokia 6.1 Plus. The smartphone is expected to be released in Hong Kong first. However, we ask our readers to take the news with a pinch of salt as there is currently no update of its arrival on Nokia’s social media channels.
Nokia Mobile’s official Taiwanese Facebook channel has now started posting teasers of the launch of Nokia 6.1 Plus, so it’s likely that the phone will be launched in Taiwan first.
A new image featuring the notched display of the Nokia X6 has surfaced online. In the comments section of the page, people are referring to this device as the Nokia 6.1 Plus. Reports suggest that the upcoming device will be supported by Android One, however, there is no information on its launch date for Taiwan as yet.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus will have the same specs as its Chinese version. The phone was recently spotted on Geekbench and Google ARCore website.
Another report hints that Russia could be one of the first markets to receive the Nokia 6.1 Plus. The phone will be launched in India in August or September according to the latest rumours, while the phone will hit the Malaysian market sometime next month.
The Nokia X6 features a 5.8-inch IPS LCD display, with FHD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 636 soc and a 3,060mAh battery. Other features included in the device are dual 16MP + 5MP rear cameras, and a 16 MP front camera. It will run on Android 8.1 Oreo. The phone will be launched in multiple storage options including 32 GB storage + 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM.
