Smartphone maker HTC has been going through a tough time with sales declining the highest in 15 years. The company’s latest flagship device U12 Plus have also been lagging and have provided no respite to the company.
The company has revealed its latest monthly numbers, which reveal a big decline in sales. For the period ending August 31, HTC has revealed revenues of $45.21 million, which is a minimal decrease in sales of just 0.77% from July, however, is constitutes an annual drop of 53.72% from a year ago. HTC has accumulated revenues of just over $580 million by Aug end, while last year the company’s numbers had already surpassed the $1 billion mark.
HTC had reported the lowest revenue numbers since 2003 and reported decreased revenues of 53.98% since last year. The company posted a net loss of NT $2.09 billion in August. The company is considering an exit from the Indian smartphone market due to increased competition.
The HTC U12+ which was launched a couple of months ago has not generated any sales momentum for the company in spite of excellent features. The company’s upcoming phone U12 Life which is expected to be launched in the fall of 2018, is also unlikely to generate much excitement.
HTC has been facing a continuous decline in fortunes. It has already sold a part of its business to Google. It remains to be seen for how long will it be able to sustain its business.

Well, another failure for HTC yet again! Even a Plus variant could not bring back the sales as expected.
And this will also have an impact on the U12 Life if the sales for the U12+ do not get going a bit.
If things do not improve for HTC in the next rounds of their phone launch and low response from the Indian market, I really fear they will have to make an exit.
