Apple’s “Gather Round” event set the tone and stage where the company unveiled three new iPhones, the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and the iPhone XR. This wasn’t all though, Apple used this platform to announce the release of its new software updates which have been in the works and in its beta stage since June.
As customary with Apple, it released the GM seeds of all its major updates. This consists of iOS 12, macOS 10.14 Mojave, watchOS 5, and tvOS 12. If you didn’t already know, GM is basically the final build and this will probably reach most users by the 19th of September. Some of the highlight features for iOS 12 in this new software update include the new Animoji as well as the use of it in Facetime, and so on. Apart from this, the update mainly focuses on improving performance on dated devices.
Perhaps one of the best updates is the once which macOS Mojave users will receive. Users will be more than accepting of the new dark mode look. Apart from this, UIKit will also bring iOS apps to the Mac. That’s definitely something to look forward to! However, not all will be so lucky as to receive the update since most older devices are still running on High Sierra.
WatchOS 5 brings with it quite a bundle of new features including a new Walkie Talkie feature, along with Siri shortcuts, and also the ability to track the starting and ending time of your daily exercise. Last but not the least is tvOS 12. While this isn’t the greatest update, it’s certainly not the worst. Some of the changes which this update will bring includes support for Dolby Atmos and a new feature called Zero Sign-On.
