Xiaomi has expanded its operations to 82 countries outside its home market. The company is now expected to launch in the UK market and will launch its own store in London soon. The Chinese smartphone maker has partnered with telecom operator Three UK to sell its phones as well. Xiaomi will be offering its products with a contract through a carrier as well as offer SIM-free products to consumers.
Xiaomi will be selling devices in the UK with mobile operator Three online as well as its 327 high-street stores from Friday 9 November. Xiaomi products will be available for purchase from 2 PM on 8th November through Mi Store as well as Xiaomi’s online store in the UK.
Xiaomi has announced a new launch event in the UK on 8th November. In the teaser image, the company shows a smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor and an infinity symbol that means “8”. This hints that Xiaomi could be launching the Mi 8 Pro in the UK at the event. Apart from the Mi 8 Pro, Xiaomi is also expected to launch a few other smartphones in the UK including the Lite variant of the Mi 8.
The Mi 8 Pro has a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED display, with 2248 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. It has dual 12MP sensors on the back and a 20MP f/2.0 camera sensor inside the notch. The pro phone comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor, a Qualcomm ‘s Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Connectivity options included in the device are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, NFC, dual-sim with dual standby. The Mi 8 Pro is powered by a 3000 mAH battery with support for fast charging.
