Sony has revealed that it has shipped 91.6 million units of the PS4 console around the world as of December 31st, 2018. The company expects to reach the 100-million-unit milestone by the end of 2019. The Sony PS4 is the third bestselling Sony console, after the original PSOne and the PS2.
Sony stated that 5.6 million units PS4 units were sold globally during the 2018 holiday season. Over 50.7 million PS4 games were sold through globally during the 2018 holiday season. Overall the company sold a cumulative of 876 million PS4 games cumulatively as of December 31, 2018. The company also revealed that its Marvel’s Spider-Man was the best-selling PS4 exclusive game out in 2018 and it sold over 9 million units last year. Marvel’s Spider-Man was launched in September 2018 and sold through more than 9 million copies globally as of November 25, 2018.
