It seems like 2019 can very well be the year in which we witness punch-hole displays becoming one of the new trends. According to Let’s Go Digital, a patent which surfaced at the Global Design Database of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office). This patent was filed by Xiaomi and includes 24 different designs of dual punch holes on a display. While this may take many by surprise, it was actually quite expected considering the fact that smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy A8s, Honor V20 and Huawei Nova 4 debuted in 2018 with a punch-hole design.
A look at the illustrations in the patent will reveal the camera implementation which Xiaomi is trying to achieve, Unlike the cutout which the Samsung Galaxy S10+ is expected to come with, this one will make use of more than one cutout on the screen. In fact, there will be two for the dual camera sensors. While all have two cutouts, some images reveal the two cutouts being occupied by not only a camera sensor but also a notification LED. Both cutouts have also been placed at either end of the top of the screen. Which smartphone do you think will be the first to feature this type of design?
Xiaomi has always been experimental with its MIX phones in an attempt to increase the screen-to-body ratio. Could the Xiaomi 4 actually launch with a design like this? Let us know what you think about this new design in the comments section below!

Innovations.... Oh god, wait! I still don't have a phone with a single punch hole, and here's Xiaomi with a patent for dual punch hole phones
LOL... They wait for none!!
And nothing to be surprised about considering, the punch-hole was last year's offering to the smartphone world.
