Nintendo to launch mini SNES classic in September for $80

26 June 2017 4

The wait is finally over. The much talked-about gaming system, Super Nintendo Entertainment System's Classic (SNES Classic) mini version is finally going to be launched on September 29 at a price of $79.99. It comes after last year's launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System(NES) which was very limited in supply but was an instant hit.

The SNES classic will have Fox Star 2, a game which isn't available on any Nintendo consoles. It was originally intended to be released along with the Nintendo 64 but was canceled by Shigeru Miyamoto at the time because Nintendo was being rivaled by other core powerful consoles. If the supply of this console is similar to the NES Classic, then maybe it will be a pity that all of the fans won't be able to enjoy the game. The only way everyone gets to play it is if Nintendo releases it on the Nintendo Switch's Virtual Console.

The console lets the users play their favorite vintage Nintendo video games on HD television sets through the HDMI port available on the console. The console comes with 21 games which are:

  1. Contra III: The Alien Wars
  2. Donkey Kong Country
  3. EarthBound
  4. Final Fantasy III
  5. F-ZERO
  6. Kirby Super Star
  7. Kirby’s Dream Course
  8. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  9. Mega Man X
  10. Secret of Mana
  11. Star Fox
  12. Star Fox 2
  13. Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
  14. Super Castlevania IV
  15. Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
  16. Super Mario Kart
  17. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
  18. Super Mario World
  19. Super Metroid
  20. Super Punch-Out!!
  21. Yoshi’s Island

All we can hope for is that the supply this time is adequate.
