Microsoft 12 Sep
Microsoft continues to roll out new features and improvements to the Skype app. Just recently the Skype app was brought to its basics with the rollout of simple design along with the removal of highlight feature. Now in the latest development, Skype is introducing call captioning feature which would offer live captions and subtitles. These would work during one-on-one calls to any phone number in addition to during group calls. Users could also toggle through the settings where they could turn on the feature for single calls or for all the calls.
Live captions and subtitles are a huge feature if you get to realize its use cases. The feature is designed to be optimized, fast and does the work live in real-time while the person is speaking. Currently, the viewing option available is the scroll feature where these captions and sub-titles auto-scroll though there would surely be more viewing options in the future updates.
Skype will also bring forward the support for 20 languages and dialects in upcoming weeks. This latest update would help you attend meetings where the mode of language is not the one that you’re comfortable with, you can always harness these new captions and sub-titles features.
