Microsoft Launcher 5.5 brings adaptive icons, available for beta testers

22 May 2019 2

Tech giant Microsoft continues to add new features and improvements to Microsoft Launcher. Recently it was updated with Android Pie like health feature and also a reward system to promote its usage. Now in the latest development, the launcher gets slight improvements in the UI department in the shape of redesigned icons.

An interesting aspect of this is that you could choose the shape of the icons which gets applied to all the apps icons on the list. Likewise, version 5.5 that is available to the beta testers brings the ability to hide the app dock. This means that it won’t be visible though you could bring it up by swiping up to open it.

The changelog presents other improvements that include much faster syncing of tasks cards for MSA accounts as well as for work/school accounts. Likewise, you could get app notification badges for messages apps without having to see Microsoft Launcher as default assistant though in case you do, badges are available for other apps as well.

Apart from these changes mentioned in the changelog, we could notice iconography improvements in quick actions in the dock or may that be the voice command button available in the search bar. Have you tried the beta version of Microsoft Launcher yet? Let us know in the comment section below.

When I tap on the home button of the Microsoft Launcher to access all the apps that are stacked chronologically, it comes to my phone's home screen in just 2-3 seconds. How's that? Any bug or what?
