Microsoft had halted the manufacture of their Lumia devices ages ago looking at how they can’t compete in a market which is dominated by Android and iOS. At some point in time, Microsoft did try to make amends by designing a successor to one of their well sold previous flagships and as the photo surfaces online, it does look like Microsoft was actually working on a device codenamed the Northstar.
From what it looks like, Microsoft appeared to be working on the successor of its Lumia 950 which seems to have an aluminum unibody design with a display panel similar to its predecessor. The device was speculated to be running the then latest Snapdragon 820 with a Quad-HD screen to make it look presentable.
Though we can’t see anything like this happening in future of the company, we do hear speculations regarding a revamped lineup of smartphones under its Surface branding which could be something to look forward to.
