It has been about a couple of months since we started to hear rumors about the Moto G7 series which will be succeeding the current Moto G6 series. It was also seen on the FCC website earlier this month but it did not reveal much except the model number. But now, a new Moto G7 press render showing its design and a complete FCC listing revealing most of the specifications have been spotted.
Starting with the press render, it has been shared exclusively by MrGizmo revealing all the important design details. The first thing to notice here is that waterdrop notch at the top. It will be the first time we will see a notch in the Moto G series as Motorola switched to notched design recently with the release of Motorola One devices. It means one should expect a taller display on the Moto G7 as compared to the Moto G6.
On the back panel, there is a dual camera setup with horizontal alignment. Both the dual sensors and LED flash are packed in a circular ring. It is followed by the Motorola branding in the center which should also double up as the fingerprint scanner. There are also curved sides and rounded corners. The overall build of the smartphone is appearing to be a tried-and-tested combination of glass and metal. It is worth noting that a Motorola-branded Qi wireless charger was spotted online and since Moto G7 render suggests a glass back, there is a possibility that it might also support wireless charging.
As for the Moto G7 FCC listing, it reveals that there will be at least two variants: XT1952-2 and XT1965-3. It is further shown to arrive in dual-SIM and single-SIM variants. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB of internal storage and a dual rear camera setup. The whole package is powered by a 3000mAh battery and also happens to support NFC.
If we go by other speculations and rumors, the Moto G7 is expected to sport a 6-inch Full HD+ display but the display size could be taller as well. The dual camera setup is said to comprise of a 16-megapixel shooter and a 5-megapixel shooter. The selfie camera is expected to be of 12-megapixel. On the software front, it is likely to run Android 9 Pie out of the box. Some reports suggest that there will be four models in the Moto G7 family: Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Play, and Moto G7 Power.
