Mystery Motorola phone with no notch, punch-hole leaks; could be Moto G8

15 August 2019 0

Motorola is widely rumored to be working on at least two new Motorola One series smartphones but a new leak has surfaced revealing a mysterious phone. The leak is coming from renowned tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) who shared two images showing a new Motorola smartphone with no information regarding its name, specifications or features.

The leaked images show a mystery Motorola phone with full-screen display and no notch or punch-hole. There are slim bezels on the three sides except for the bottom bezel. The bottom one is relatively bigger as it features Motorola branding. Since both leaked images are of the front panel, there are not many things to take note of except that there is no visible front camera. It means the phone could be opting for a pop-up selfie camera like the OnePlus 7 Pro, Redmi K20 Pro, Vivo V15 Pro.

Some of the media publications have speculated that this mystery smartphone could be the Moto G8. There are a few reasons to believe why this could be true. The first reason is that Motorola usually launches a new Moto G series smartphone in the first half of a new year. The exact release timeline could vary between the first and second quarter but it is mostly the first half. It means for that to happen, the team should have started working on the device including deciding the design.

Another reason is that Moto G has been one of the best-selling series for Motorola. It has used the series for introducing new features like notched displays with the Moto G7 lineup. Since the current trend is of notch-less phones, it would not be surprising to see Motorola following the suit too.

The Motorola Moto G8 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
