After months of leaks and rumors, the Motorola One Action mid-range smartphone has finally been made official. It is the newest phone to join the Motorola One lineup and is focused on smartphone camera capabilities. This is the reason it not only has a triple rear camera setup but also has special camera features.
The Motorola One Action features a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle Full HD Quad Pixel sensor with 117-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The secondary camera is the one Motorola is referring to as Action Cam. It is a sensor that is capable of shooting 4K videos with 117-degree FoV so that you can record a wider area. It can further rotate the video by 90-degrees so that even if you end up shooting vertically, you can get the footage in the horizontal orientation.
Other than this, the One Action sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2520 x 1080 pixels) punch-hole display with 21:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Samsung's Exynos 9609 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. There is 128GB of onboard storage with microSD card support up to 512GB. It has a 12-megapixel front camera with f/1.8 aperture which is housed within the punch-hole on the display.
It has a 3,500mAh battery to keep the lights on and is supported by 10W TurboPower for fast charging. It will run stock Android 9 Pie out of the box and since it is an Android One phone, it also comes with the promise of at least two major Android upgrades and regular security updates. Other features include a fingerprint scanner and 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Motorola One Action has been priced at EUR 299 for the sole 4GB/128GB variant. It has been released in White and Blue color variants with sales currently live via Motorola's online store. It is expected to become available via brick and mortar stores by the end of August.
