Motorola's much-rumored folding phone RAZR is now tipped to become official as soon as December 2019. This new bit of information and a few other details have been mentioned in a new LetsGoDigital report citing anonymous sources. It is claimed that the Motorola RAZR 2019 phone will make its debut in Europe followed by other markets including the United States.
The report says Motorola is expected to announce RAZR folding phone by the end of December or early January 2020. It will make its first appearance in Europe for a price tag around €1,500. This will make it substantially cheaper than other foldable smartphones like Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X which cost upwards of €2,000. It is expected to cost around $1,500 when it becomes available in the U.S.
One of the main reasons for such reduced pricing is that the new Motorola RAZR is said to be a mid-range smartphone as compared to others being pure flagships. This claim is in line with a previous leak suggesting Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 as the choice of processor for this upcoming phone.
Motorola is said to be focusing on the product design more than features and specifications. This is the reason the phone will not come with a bigger battery like its rivals. The overall design will be similar to the original RAZR phone and what we have seen in concept renders based on leaks and a patent filing.
It means the RAZR 2019 will have a bigger display that will be on the inside when in a folded state. There will also be a smaller display on the outside for showing information like date, time, and notifications. The details regarding the display sizes are scarce but some speculate the main display to be 6.2-inches.
