It has been a few months since Motorola unveiled Moto G8 Plus and Moto G8 Play but we are yet to hear anything about the standard edition. In the meantime, XDA has shared a report about Moto G8 and Moto G8 Power specifications. It has cited a "trusted source" for the report that has offered correct Motorola details in the past as well.
Both Moto G8 and Moto G8 Power are said to be sharing many of the specifications and design features. These phones will sport a punch-hole display as compared to the notched one used in other phones of the series. Other design similarities include rounded corners, button placements, and physical fingerprint scanner. The biometric authentication method is said to be available within the Motorola logo on the back panel.
Let's have a look at rumored specifications of both phones one by one.
The Moto G8 is rumored to sport a 6.39-inch HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) display. It is said to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB of RAM. The storage options include 32GB and 64GB with no words on the microSD card expansion. There will be a triple camera setup featuring a 16-megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle (118-degree FoV) sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.2 aperture. It will have an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 10W fast charging support. It will run the latest Android 10 out of the box that is expected to be a stock Android experience. It will have a model number XT2045-1 with availability expected in North America, Latin America (Mexico), Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
As the name suggests, the Moto G8 Power will be a smartphone focused on providing long-lasting battery life. This is the reason it is tipped to feature a huge 5,000mAh battery and even faster 18W fast charging. It will be released with model numbers XT2041-1 and XT2041-3 in different markets.
The Moto G8 Power display will be 6.36-inches in size which is almost the same as the standard edition. It will have the same Snapdragon 665 processor but with a single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration option. There is a quad-camera setup on the back panel with an additional 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The selfie camera will be a 25-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
On the software front, it will come pre-installed with the latest Android 10 operating system. It is said to be released in North America, Latin America (Argentina, Costa Rica, Mexico), and other global markets.
