Samsung has been working on a newer version of the Gear IconX earbuds along with the successor to the Gear Sport and the Gear Fit 2. According to reports, 2019 IconX earbuds come with model number SM-R170.
The Samsung IconX earbuds will be available in black, white, and yellow colours. The earbuds will also have 8GB of internal storage, which is higher than on any previous Gear-branded products.
The next IconX earbuds could offer will come with Galaxy branding. Samsung could also bring AKG tuning into the mix, which may raise the price tag considerably. The South Korean giant will also be launching the Bixby-powered Galaxy Home with AKG speakers this year. The next iteration of the smart speaker is expected to be smaller in size, and cheaper as well compared to the first generation.
The new IconX earbuds will also come with improved battery life. The 2018 Gear IconX (2018) also brought a significant improvement in endurance over the first iteration of the earbuds. The company could also choose to increase the battery capacity of the charging case instead, though that’s not certain for now. Samsung released the first Gear Icon X earbuds in 2016. They didn’t have great battery life and were difficult to control. However, they have been one of the most revolutionary products. Since then the products have improved greatly.
