Spotify Premium now includes a free subscription to Hulu’s ad-supported plan. The new service is available to new as well as existing users of Spotify’s Premium streaming service in the US. The move comes after Netflix’s recent price hike post which Hulu has lowered the cost of its ad-supported plan down to $5.99 a month. With Spotify users will get even more savings.
Spotify users can sign up for the new service by activating Hulu on the “Your Services” page within account settings. If you are a Hulu user through Spotify, then you will save an extra $3 per month. If you subscribe to Hulu and don’t yet have a Spotify account, you should cancel your billing through Hulu, and set it up through Spotify to receive the discount. Spotify has announced that this offer is open until June 10th, 2019, or till supplies last.
“Today is the first time that we’re offering a Hulu plan to the masses as part of their $9.99 Spotify Premium subscription,” Marc Hazan, Spotify’s global head of premium business development, said in a press release. “As we push towards making Spotify Premium a gateway to a bigger world of entertainment, we’re fully committed to finding new ways to enhance the overall experience for our Premium users and this is just the beginning.” In a blog post, the Swedish music-streaming service further stressed its apparent goodwill: “Devour Hulu’s library of hit TV series and films, current shows from every major U.S. broadcast network, and acclaimed Hulu Originals to your heart’s desire at no extra charge,” it said. “That’s right, you are getting Hulu on us.”
