Beats Powerbeats Pro launched with H1 chip, better fit at $250

04 April 2019 2

As previously speculated, Apple’s Beats brand has announced the new Powerbeats Pro Wireless earphones, which like the AirPods are wire-free and come with a charging case. But unlike the AirPods, the new Powerbeats Pro fit better in your ears. And, like the current Powerbeats, the newly launched Pro model is sweat and water resistant and includes the Powerbeats earhooks along with tips and comes in four sizes so as to fit different ear sizes.

The Powerbeats Pro also include the same Apple H1 chip which is also fitted inside the newly launched AirPods. And they also include the hands-free “Hey Siri” voice commands.

The Powerbeats Pro have an “ergonomically angled housing“ and Apple says they are 23 percent smaller and 17 percent lighter than the Powerbeats 3. The new Pro variant includes the physical controls on each earbud with a dedicated volume buttons for adjusting the volume, and a button for answering and declining phone calls and changing the track that’s currently playing.

The new Powerbeats Pro come in their own clamshell-style charging case, which offers over 24 hours of combined playback with the nine hours of listening time that you can get from each earbud.

Like AirPods and many other true wireless earbuds, the new Powerbeats Pro will pause your music when you remove one or both earbuds and then resume playing once you put them back in your ear.

The Powerbeats Pro are priced at $250 and it will come in black, white, dark green, and navy. They will first launch in May in the US and more than 20 additional countries and regions, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
