Flipkart's MarQ announces HDR Smart TV and ACs at CES 2018

11 January 2018 3

Flipkart's private label MarQ has announced a new upcoming HDR Smart TV and a range of ACs at the ongoing CES 2018 event in Las Vegas. Both these products will be made available in the month of May and only in India. The company said that these labels have been manufactured by keeping the needs of Indian users in mind which is to offer right technical specs at the right price.

MarQ did not reveal any specific details about the products except for giving an idea of what to expect. The Smart TV is said to come at 32-inch display size with support for HDR capabilities. The operating system for the TV is unknown at the moment but the team said that it will be featuring apps that consumers love to have. As for the ACs, they will be released under the new InnoCool series and would range anywhere from 1 to 1.5 ton. They will also bundle air purification functionality with the product once it becomes available.

Adarsh Menon, Head of Private Labels and Electronics, Flipkart said,

"Three things that matter in large appliance is the price, tech and after sales. Consumers want a certain tech and associate that spec with a given price. But most of them are not happy about this equation and postpone their purchases or wait for an event to trigger the purchase.”

MarQ will be offering after-sales support via Jeevas, a company owned by Flipkart. While there are no words on the pricing yet, the company suggested it would be 15-20% cheaper than the competition.
