Panasonic has launched a new entry-level smartphone named Panasonic P95 in India. This new offering is strictly aimed at those who are either upgrading to a smartphone for the first time or want to get an affordable device for their next purchase. There is not much fancy about this phone except that it offers face unlocking.
The Panasonic P95 sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display. Under the hood, it has the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It offers 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage with support for microSD cards. On the back panel, it has an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash. There is a 5-megapixel camera on the front but there is no flash which is not surprising considering the price.
The whole package is powered by a 2300mAh battery and it will be running Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. As mentioned in the beginning, the device features face unlocking support which basically means the ability to unlock the device by looking at the front camera. This should compensate for the lack of a fingerprint scanner but the actual efficiency of the same would be interesting to see.
The Panasonic P95 has been priced at Rs. 4,999 with the option to choose from Blue, Dark Grey, and Gold color variants. As part of an introductory offer, it will be available for purchase for Rs. 3,999 during the Flipkart Big Shopping Days from May 13th to May 16th.
