OnePlus is amongst those OEMs who are known for bringing the top of the line hardware and the first key selling aspect of their devices is being performance metric. However performance at a cost which usually affects the design of OnePlus smartphones. This year OnePlus paid special attention to design to make sure it is not only a performance-centric smartphone but also it comes with a trendy design language to attract buyers. The first prominent change on the front is inclusion of notch like most of the latest Chinese smartphones.
OnePlus once again followed the bezel-less design trend, so far renders showcase the device with minimal bezels and a notch at the top. The rear side has dual cameras setup placed vertically in the center with dual LED flashlight. The fingerprint scanner is below the camera sensors. Have a look at the OnLeaks renders based video shared by Compare Raja.
Recently OnePlus CEO Pete Lau reveal details of the upcoming OnePlus 6 design. In his post “Our Approach to Honest Design,” on the OnePlus official forums, he reveals the reason behind the inclusion of glass rear instead of unibody metal design. He stated:
“OnePlus 6’s glass design is centered around creating a ‘sense of value’ and ‘premium hand-feel, We care about the user’s experience from the moment they touch the device. We also want our devices to feel burdenless in the hand, even after an extended period of use. OnePlus users have exacting standards for great industrial design.”
Apart from having the latest trendy design, the OnePlus 6 comes with a special Nanotech coating to provide users premium feel like no other flagship in the market. As far as colors are a concern the OnePlus 6 is rumored to be released in four colors option. The base variant will be available in black, blue and white whereas the top of the line variant will also be available in two-tone white and blue colors. Another addition to the OnePlus 6 design will be the ability to resist water and dust. OnePlus 6 official Twitter account recently teased the water and dust resistance capability of OnePlus 6.

Like always OnePlsus main aim to bring the latest best possible hardware straight out of the box at a budget-friendly price tag, same will be the case with this year OnePlus 6. With its hardware, the OnePlus 6 will certainly challenge the existing big players like Samsung, LG, Sony, Xiaom and Huawei's latest flagships. OnePlus CEO already confirmed the device is featuring the Qualcomm's latest Octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC with up to 8GB RAM and built-in storage up to 256GB. The camera-setup is certainly one key aspect where OnePlus smartphones are not top-notch as they are in other departments, however, the latest rumors suggest the company paid special attention this year to improve the capability of dual rear cameras. This year almost all OEMs first preference to is to bring something extraordinary in the camera department.
As per TENAA listing, the OnePlus 6 primary snapper will be 20MP whereas the secondary sensor will be 16MP. The listing of the sensors is pretty much in line with the photos shared by the CEO. The CEO recently shared few stunning photos which were captured during this visit in the USA. The images confirm the details regarding the dual rear cameras. OnePlus used similar camera modules for the OnePlus 5 and 5T but this year OnePlus improved the capability via software as well as increased the aperture size.
The first prominent change in the camera experience will be enhanced capability of portrait mode. It was certainly one of a weak aspect of OnePlus dual camera setup but certainly, that won't be the case anymore. In one of the recently shared images captured by OnePlus 6, we can clearly see how the device superbly blurred the tulip flower background and the colors contrast ratio is pretty amazing. Other images highlighted the zooming capabilities where the image details remain pretty great even after zooming up pretty close.
The images shared by Lau highlights different aspects of OnePlus 6 cameras, however, it lacks any photo in low-light conditions. The reason behind the omission of that photo was the Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari photo captured by Vogue India for the cover photo using the OnePlus 6. The image was captured in fairly low-light conditions in a RAW mode which certainly helps the company to improve its results later as well. It is important to mention that capturing an amazing low-light photo is never an easy task.
