The Chinese smartphone maker Smartisan has launched its latest flagship named R1. The latest offering from the company continues the trend of sporting a unique and amazing design. Apart from the stunning design, the most interesting thing about the smartphone is whopping 1TB internal storage. It is the world's first smartphone to offer inbuilt storage of 1TB which should be way more than enough for your storage needs.
The Smartisan R1 features the glass-metal sandwich design which means you will find glass on the back side as well. It is said to be 3D glass and grade 7 aluminum which gives the device an appealing design. On the front, it features a bezel-less design with a small notch at the top which is similar to the Essential PH-1. It has 84% screen-to-body ratio which gives an idea of how thin the bezels are on this device.
In terms of specifications, the Smartisan R1 sports a 6.17-inch Full HD+ (2220 x 1080 pixels) with 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM and up to 1TB storage. There are different configuration variants to choose from which include 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 1TB storage.
On the back, you will find 12-megapixel (Sony IMX363) and 20-megapixel (Sony IMX350) dual camera setup with f/1.8 and f/1.75 aperture respectively. It has a 24-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and AI-powered Beauty mode. The whole package is powered by a 3600mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4+. While it features a fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port, there is no headphone jack on the device.
The Smartisan R1 has been priced at 3499 Yuan (about $549) for the 6GB/64GB base model. It will cost you 3999 Yuan (about $627) for 6GB/128GB, 4499 Yuan (about $705) for 8GB/128GB, and 8848 Yuan (about $1388) for 8GB/1TB models. It is already up for sale via JD.com for anyone interested in getting one.
