BLU is a name known for releasing affordable smartphones but with relatively better specs for the asking price. It has released some good smartphones which have received positive feedback from users. But the company is now appearing to be diversifying its product categories as it has launched its first smartwatch named BLU X Link.
The BLU X Link is a smartwatch packed with basic functionalities to make it feel different from standard or you can say non-smart watches. It has a 1.1-inch IPS display with zinc alloy design. It runs a basic OS (not Wear OS) with no apps except for some of the smart tasks it can do by default. These include counting steps, heartbeat rate, and sync notifications. There is support for SIM cards but limited only to 2G connectivity. This can be used for receiving/making calls and sending/receiving SMSes.
The smartwatch is said to be IP54 certified against dust and water resistance. It means the smartwatch should work fine if there is a splash of water or you end up dropping it in water for some time. But we would not suggest getting too adventurous while using this smartwatch.
As you can see that there is nothing special about the BLU X Link which means you might be wondering why would anyone want it. The answer is because of the price which is only $60. If you are looking for an affordable smartwatch with some basic functionalities, then this might be the one for you. It is currently available for preorders on Amazon with shipping starting June 6th.
