Honor Magibook gets an AMD Ryzen variant at Computex 2018

04 June 2018 2

The Honor Magicbook has received a new variant powered by AMD Ryzen processor. It is an alternative and relatively affordable option to the previously launched MagicBook model featuring Intel Core i5/i7 processors. This new variant has been named Honor Magicbook Sharp Dragon Ryzen Edition with pre-orders currently live on JD.com in China.

To be specific, the new Magicbook model comes with quad-core 2.0GHz AMD Ryzen R5 2500U processor which can be overclocked up to 3.6GHz. It further has Radeon Vega 8 GPU for handling graphics intensive processes and applications like games. Rest of the configuration include up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD storage.

It sports a 14-inch Full HD IPS display with almost negligible bezels and 81% screen-to-body ratio. This helps in delivering an immersive video consumption or gaming experience to users. In terms of the build quality, you will find an all-metal aluminum chassis which makes it feel sturdier and premium.

The whole package is powered by a 57Wh battery which is claimed to last you for up to 12 hours on a single charge. It will run the latest Windows 10 version out of the box. As mentioned in the beginning, the Honor Magicbook Sharp Dragon Ryzen Edition is available for preorders via JD.com with sales starting June 6th. There is no information on the pricing yet but it should be cheaper than the Intel Core processor counterpart.
