07 June 2018 3

Sharp Aquos S3 was launched in March in Taiwan, which features a redesigned notch and a larger display. However, it has the same processor as its predecessor the Sharp Aquos S2.

Now the company has launched a new high-end version of the Sharp Aquos S3 with a more powerful Snapdragon Qualcomm 660 processor, along with some premium features. It has a 6-inch IPS FHD+ LCD panel with 2280×1080 pixels resolution and a tall aspect ratio of 18:9.

The high-end Aquos S3 has 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card slot. It has the same battery capacity as the base model, and Sharp has added support for wireless charging (7.5W). The phone has the same dual (12MP + 13MP) rear cameras as the previous model launched in March. The phone has a 16MP front camera for clicking selfies. The Sharp Aquos S3 has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, dual SIM support, and is backed by a 3200 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support.

Connectivity options included are NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G and GPS. It runs on Android 8.0 with Sharp’s proprietary Smile UX on top. The new phone comes with wireless charging which was not present in the earlier variant.

Sharp Aquos S3 new high end variant is priced at NTD 13,990 (~$470) and will hit the shelves on June 11 in Taiwan.
