Huawei Mate 10 series to get GPU Turbo tech and 960fps slow motion feature

13 June 2018 2

Honor launched a new gaming phone Honor Play with GPU Turbo tech last week at an event in China. The work of GPU Turbo is to increase the processing efficiency of graphics on the Honor Play. It helps in playing heavier games without putting much burden on the battery and the overall performance. The technology increases the processing power of the GPU by up to 60% while reducing power consumption by 30%.

Well, the company isn’t keeping the GPU Turbo tech exclusive to the Honor Play as its parent company has announced during an event at CES Asia that Mate 10 and a few other phones will receive this tech.

To start with, Huawei Mate 10 series will be the first to receive the GPU Turbo update. Huawei has also shared the timeframe that tells when to expect the update to come on several devices. On the timeframe, several other Huawei phones are also mentioned. The update will first roll out to Mate 10 series by the end of this month and other devices will soon join this.

Below is the list of supported devices that will receive the GPU Turbo update –

  1. June – Mate 10, Honor V10
  2. July – P20 Series, Mate RS Porsche Design, Nova 2s, Honor 10, MediaPad M5
  3. August – Nova 3e, Enjoy 8 Plus, Enjoy 7S, Maimang 6, Honor 9 Lite, Honor Play 7X
  4. September – Mate 9 Series
  5. October – P10 Series, Honor 9, Honor V9
  6. November – Other Huawei devices not mentioned above

Huawei Mate 10 also has some special features to gain, including the cloud computing support starting June 26. It will then receive the EMUI 8.1 update in mid-July which will bring 960fps slow-motion recording.

Later last month we also got to know that Mate 10 series will gain P20 Pro’s long exposure feature that helps in stabilizing the shots without the need for a tripod. Also, with the Android 8.1 update, the device will receive some P20 series’ AI features.

Huawei is yet to come with the next iteration of the Mate 10 series and it’s good to see that the company is enabling several rich features to the existing lineup to make them better.

So, it’s a great news for Mate 10 series’ users as several new features are coming sooner to enhance its capabilities.
