Nikon, specializing in optics and imaging products has expanded its camera range with a mammoth zoom capability with the launch of the new Coolpix P1000. The lens included in the camera offers 125x optical zoom, its focal range equivalent to 24-3000mm. However, using a Dynamic Fine Zoom option, it’s possible to increase the focal length equivalent to 6000mm.
Nikon touts it to be a compact camera with the maximum zoom option. It’s a direct successor to the P900 camera that came up with the 83x zoom lens. With the elephantine zooming capacity, the camera is suitable for wildlife photographers. The camera also has a dedicated bird-watching and moon-shooting settings on its mode dial letting the photographers capture the beauty.
The Nikon Coolpix P1000 is a perfect option for super-telephoto photography. It comes with an upgraded EXPEED image-processing engine. This allows for high-quality images. Also, with the help of the Dual Detect Optical VR, it could also help in reducing the vibration.
The Nikon Coolpix P1000 has an OLED electronic viewfinder and it supports RAW image capture. It can also shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second and works with Nikon’s SnapBridge Bluetooth image transfer system. Furthermore, the SnapBridge support enables remote camera control from a smart device and automatic transfer of photos to a smart device.
The Nikon Coolpix P1000 will be available on sale in September at £999.99/$999.95.
