14 August 2018 3

TCL has sent out invites for a launch event on Thursday, August 30 during the IFA 2018 event, where it is likely to launch its budget QWERTY handset the Blackberry Key2 LE or the Blackberry Key2 Lite.

The upcoming phone is expected to be a reworked version of this year’s Key2 phone, with slightly lower specifications. According to rumours, the Blackberry Key2 LE will have a slower processor, less RAM, and a slightly weaker battery. The phone will not have a trackpad functionality which was one of the best parts of the KeyOne and Key2.

Leaked specs and details of the BlackBerry KEY2 LE reveal a similar design to its sibling the Key2 and a keyboard design matching the predecessor KEYone. The phone will have a fingerprint scanner and an introduced shortcut key. The KEY2 has a 4.5-inch Full HD LCD display with 1620 x 1080 pixels display resolution. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB /64GB storage options.

The phone will have a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Under the hood, the Blackberry phone will be powered by a 3000mAh battery and run Android 8.0 Oreo.

We ask our readers to take the news with a pinch of salt, as the specs and the launch have not been confirmed by TCL till now. We should know more about the phone in the coming days. So, stay tuned!
