Sony unveiled 4K and HDR home cinema projectors at IFA last year and this time the company is here with another wave of new projectors that promise ultra HD image quality that is designed for gaming and sports fans, though all of these come with a hefty price tag. These models offer 4K 60fps, a 10-bit color that is compatible with HDR. In addition, these projectors are perfect for 4K Blu-ray and Netflix streaming in addition to being ideal for gaming much due to the ‘lag-reduction’ feature built in.
Likewise, these projectors are accompanied with 4k ‘Motionflow’ frame smoothing feature which makes the movies terrible and you should rather turn it off as that makes the picture horrible though it suites well for fast moving sports and media related to it.
This is the top line model that offers 4K laser light source featuring an 18-piece ‘ARC-F’ all-glass lens offering crispy images. Talking about the brightness, this model can’t be considered the brightness, featuring 2200 lumens, though it’s good enough to watch media in daylight as well. To offer a stunning contrast for games and movies.
These two models are the lower end models offering 1800 and 1500 lumens respectively with a price tag of around €5,000 and €4,000, respectively.
All of these models were curtained off at Berlin on the IFA event, which means we could expect them to be available in Europe initially and could come to the US later at some point. Currently, there no confirmation about the pricing though considering that the lower range models replace the €5,000 and €4,000 models, the higher range model would surely be more than that price tag. Talking about the availability of the phone, the two lower range models would arrive in November while the laser-powered expensive one would be available in November.
