Nubia Z18S clears TENAA with dual display and Android Oreo 8.1

24 September 2018 5

Nubia is one of those OEMs who likes to bring something different to attract customers. This year so far Nubia brought two special devices including Z18 van Gogh edition and the gaming-centric Red Magic phone. However from the look of the things the company is getting ready to announce another special smartphone. The special aspect of this device is dual display on the rear side.

Unlike the Meizu Pro 7, the Nubia's device has a full display on the rear side. A few days ago we have alleged photos of Nubia Z18S with dual displays, later on, a hands-on video of the same device appears online.

Today a new Nubia smartphone bearing model number NX616J appears on TENAA certification. Unfortunately, the listing didn't include images of the device. However, the best thing is the listing confirms dual displays. The primary display is a 6.26-inches LCD display panel with a Full HD+ screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels whereas the secondary display is a 5.1-inches OLED display with HD+ screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. So you will be getting a Full HD+ panel on the front and an HD+ panel on the rear side.

The listing suggests the device dimensions are 154.1 x 73.3 x 8.65mm and it weighs 178g. It is pretty much understandable why the Z18S is significantly thicker than most of the latest phones. It is packed with a 3,800mAH battery cell. An Octa-core SoC is powering the device with max clocking at 2.6Ghz. Most likely it has the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 under the hood. The base variant has 6GB RAM with 64GB storage whereas the top of the line model has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It lacks support for memory expansion via MicroSD.

The listing reveals the device has a 24MP sensor on the rear side whereas the selfie snapper is 16MP. Surprisingly the hands-on video and alleged photos showcase the device has dual sensors on the rear side.

As OS it is pre-installed with Android Oreo 8.1. After the TENAA certification, we can expect the Nubia Z18S launch isn't far away. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated as soon as some more info regarding the Nubia dual display phone appears online.
