Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro finally went official at an event held in London. After going through a series of leaks and rumors, the devices are official with impressive design and a different design language when it comes to the placing the cameras. One of the major changes includes the quad camera module that includes triple cameras.
The two devices have the ultimate and powerful SoC which is the world’s first 7nm SoC. It’s the world’s first Cortex-A76 based CPU, and include the dual-NPU with Mali-G76 GPU.
The Huawei Mate 20 has 4,000mAH battery and the Mate 20 Pro has 4,200mAH battery. Both the devices include a 40W charger for “lightning speed” charging. Also, they both support 15W wireless charger for a quick and hassle-free charging.
The best part is, the 15W wireless charger can charge other phones as well. While announcing the feature, Huawei's CEO Richard Yu showed an iPhone that can be charged when placed on the wireless charger of the company. This makes the accessory world's first wireless reverse charger.
The Huawei Mate 20 include a 16MP ultra wide angle lens with f/ 2.2 aperture, 12MP wide angle lens with f/1.8 aperture and the third sensor includes an 8MP 2X telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. Talking about the triple rear cameras setup of the Mate 20 Pro, the device has a 40MP wide angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, 20MP ultra wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and an 8MP 3x telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro includes the display notch that contains Dot projector, TOF proximity sensor, flood illuminator, and an IR camera for face-unlock. Talking about Mate 20, the device doesn't include the display notch but it does have a small placeholder that contains the front-facing camera only.
Also, it doesn't have an in-display fingerprint scanner as present on the Mate 20 Pro. Another difference is the IP68 certification that makes Mate 20 Pro waterproof devices over the Mate 20. Also, apart from the in-display fingerprint scanner, the Mate 20 Pro has a 3D face unlock as well for more secure authentication. On the Mate 20, the fingerprint scanner is mounted on the back below the square camera module.
Both the devices come with 3D Modeling Calorie Calculation that calculates the calories based on food recognition and volume measurement.
As usual, Huawei has also launched the Porsche Design version of the Mate 20 series that differ in build quality. The all-new Mate 20 RS is skillfully designed and composed of sleek craft corners, the glossy exterior makes this devices premium than others in the series. It comes in two variants, one is 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and the other has an 8GB RAM and 512GB storage.
The price of the Huawei Mate 20 with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is 799 Euros, and the variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs 849 Euros. Also, the price of the Mate 20 Pro model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is 1049 Euros. They all will be available from October 16th, 2018. The price of the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20 RS is 1695 Euros for the 8GB RAM+128GB storage variant and 2095 Euros for 8GB RAM and 512B storage. It will also be available from October 16th.
