DJI has launched a new folding drone named Mavic 2 Enterprise which is primarily meant for commercial purposes. It is simply a beefed up version of the Mavic 2 Zoom where the newly added features make it an interesting option for businesses, professional, and government agencies. It comes with a bunch of modular accessories which can prove to be really helpful in search and rescue operations.
The biggest addition to this new drone is the introduction of modular accessories including a 2,400 -lumen spotlight (M2E Spotlight), a 100-decibel speaker (M2E Speaker), and a beacon (M2E Beacon). The spotlight is aimed at helping users see in the dark which should come in hand during search and rescue operations. The loudspeaker supports playing up to 10 custom voice recordings which can be recorded using your phone for crowded or lifesaving mission situations. Lastly, the beacon features a bright flashing strobe which is visible from as far as three miles away.
The drone has focused on the security aspect as well. It now allows users to set up a password which will need to be entered every time someone wants to access the drone. It will prevent unauthorized people from operating the drone as well as from accessing any of the stored data which could be confidential. It further has GPS timestamping feature so that users can get accurate details about recorded photos and videos.
As for other features and tech specs, the Mavic 2 Enterprise features a 12-megapixel camera with support for 2x digital zoom and 3x optical zoom. It has a 3-axis gimbal for stabilization purposes so that you do not end up with a shaky footage or shot. It has 24GB of onboard storage with is three times more than the Mavic 2 Zoom. It also has "self-heating" battery which should make it possible for the drone to operate in colder conditions. The battery is claimed to last for a 31-minute continuous ride on a single full charge.
The DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise has been priced at $1,999 which will get you the drone, all three modular accessories, a remote controller, a battery, and a protective case. There is a "Fly More Kit" worth $419 which is completely optional to buy. This kit consists of two propellers, two batteries, a battery charging hub, a car charger, a USB connector, and a soft case.
