The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is finally official as the event held in London has wrapped up. As expected, the smartphone features retail packaging and unboxing experience which will remind buyers about the partnership between OnePlus and McLaren. The same goes for the phones' appearance and software experience as well. In terms of specifications and features, the key highlights of the device are whopping 10GB of RAM and improved Warp Charge fast charging technology.
In terms of appearance, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is essentially the same as the standard OnePlus 6T. But when it comes to differences, it has a back cover features Carbon Fiber pattern, a material which McLaren was the first one to use in Formula 1 cars. The device bears Black color but also features a Papaya Orange (McLaren's signature color) colored line along the bottom edge of the smartphone. And yes, there is the McLaren logo at the bottom back as well.
Now talking about technical specifications, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has been released only in 10GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. This makes sense as the company's marketing tagline has been "Salute to Speed". This is the first-ever OnePlus smartphone to feature 10GB of RAM which one might argue is actually an overkill for a smartphone.
Other than this, it sports a 6.41-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with a notch at the top. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. There is a 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel dual rear camera set up along with a 16-megapixel front camera. The whole package is powered by a 3700mAh battery with support for Warp Charge fast charging. It comes bundled with a 30W Warp charger claimed to charge the phone up to 50% within 20 minutes. It will be running OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie but with a few customizations to match with the McLaren collaboration.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has been priced at $699 in North America and £649 in Europe with the sale starting December 13th. It will be coming to other markets including India as well but actual pricing for these markets will be revealed at the time of release.
