08 January 2019 4

Last year we have seen only a few companies brought 8K TVs, this year TCL also entered in the 8K arena which means you can expect affordable 8K TVs later this year. Last year the company's 6-Series Roku TVs were amongst the best-selling lineup which not only attracts experts but also customers as well. The lineup was offering great features at affordable pricing. Well, the company is back with a bang at the CES 2019 with new exciting products.

At the event, the company announced their new 8-Series Roku TV. The base model will have 75-inches display with 8K screen resolution. TCL stated the new 8-series TV will have quantum-dot QLED panels. Apart from the 75-inches panel the company will be offering larger variants as well.

For the US market, the 8K TV will come with Roku TV interface whereas for the rest of the regions it will be shipped as TCL X10 QLED TV running on Android TV, it will have Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa straight out of the box. The TV will also be pre-installed with TCL AI-IN to assist users. The 8K TV screen resolution is 7,680 x 4,320 pixels.

Despite the fact, many TV manufacturers are bringing 8K TVs but the 8K content isn't widely available. To sort out this problem the Roku 8-series TV is capable the upscale the today's Full HD and 4K content to deleiver high-res content with great clarity. This means the new 8K lineup is great not only as per the latest standard but also it will be future proof as well. The Roku TVs will have the latest best HDMI 2.1.

The best thing is Roku TV will come with almost 100% of DCI-P3 gamut and Dolby Vision. To provide the top-notch audio experience the TV comes with Onkyo sound with Dolby Atmos support. The sound bars are of theater-level that's why you won't require an extra audio setup for the great audio experience. As far as availability and pricing is a concern the company is so far silent regarding it. However, the chances are high the new 8K TVs from TCL will be available in the second half of this year.

Roku 6-Series TV

Apart from unveiling 8K TV series, the company launched a new variant of Roku 6-Series TV. The latest 75-inches variant is largest amongst all, so far only the 55-inches and 65-inches 6-Series TVs were available. The best thing is 75-inches variant goes on sale soon after the announcement via Best Buy at $1800. At the moment the new model is exclusive at the Best Buy, however, we can expect more retailers will be offering it in the next few weeks.
