Huawei MateBook 14, MateBook X Pro (2019) launched at MWC 2019

Huawei's MWC 2019 keynote is over where the main attraction was foldable smartphone Mate X. But at the same event, it took the opportunity to announce two new notebooks named MateBook X Pro (2019) and MateBook 14. The first one is the most premium offering and is a more powerful variant of the MateBook X Pro from last year.

Huawei MateBook X Pro (2019)

The Huawei MateBook X Pro (2019) looks quite similar to the predecessor with most of the changes taking place under the hood. It features a 13.9-inch LTPS display with 3000 x 2000 pixels resolution, 178-degree viewing angle, touchscreen input, and 91% screen-to-body ratio. It gives an option of choosing from 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U and Intel Core i7-8565U processor. There are 8GB and 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM option along with 2GB NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU and Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU. The storage option is available up to 1TB SSD. It will be running Windows 10 Home out of the box.

It features a 1-megapixel webcam and is powered by a 57.4Wh battery claimed to last for up to 13 hours on local video playback. Other features include two USB 3.0 ports, one USB Type-C port, fingerprint scanner, Dolby Atmos sound, Bluetooth 5.0, and WiFi. It has been released in Mystic Silver and Space Grey color variants.

Huawei has priced the MateBook X Pro (2019) with 8GB/512GB configuration and 16GB/1TB configuration at EUR 1,599 and EUR 1,999 respectively.

With Huawei MateBook 14, buyers will get a 14-inch IPS display with 2160 x 1440 pixels resolution, 178-degree viewing angle, and touchscreen input support. There are 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U and Intel Core i7-8565U processor options with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB SSD storage. The graphics card options include NVIDIA GeForce MX250 and Intel UHD 620 GPU.

It also has a 1-megapixel webcam with Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, one USB Type-C port, one USB A3.0 port, one USB A2.0 port. The battery capacity is claimed to last for up to 15 hours for a 1080p video playback at 150nits brightness. The notebook will come pre-loaded with Windows 10 Home.

The MateBook 14 has been priced at EUR 1,199 for the Intel Core i5/8GB/512GB variant and it goes all the way up to EUR 1,599 for Intel Core i7/16GB/512GB variant.
