Fitbit has announced four new fitness-centric wearables across the price gamut. The newly introduced wearables include a budget-friendly smartwatch Fitbit Versa Lite, two health-focused fitness trackers Fitbit Inspire and Fitbit Inspire HR along with a kids-focused Fitbit Ace 2. These new fitness trackers will replace the old and dated Alta, Alta HR, Flex 2, Zip, and Ace fitness bands.
“Since founding Fitbit almost 12 years ago, we’ve focused on making health fun and achievable for everyone – regardless of fitness level or goals. Bringing more users to the wearables category and growing our community of active users is a critical part of our strategy." said James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit in a statement.
The Fitbit Versa Lite is a $160 priced smartwatch that offers 4-day of battery life and is an affordable version of its successful Versa smartwatch. It comes with an inbuilt heart rate monitor with a SpO2 sensor which is helpful in detecting sleep apnea. It is swim proof, however, unlike the Fitbit Versa, this one doesn’t have a few important sensors like the automatic lap counter, Stairs counter (barometer) and also doesn’t come with inbuilt storage.
Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR can be called as touch screen versions of Fitbit Alta and Alta HR and comes in an all-new updated design. Its battery once charged fully, which takes almost 2 hours, can offer up to 5 days of backup. These trackers offer 15+ goal-based exercise in active periods and rest periods which includes sleep tracking and relaxed breathing.
Both of these fitness bands come with water resistance up to 50m and a grayscale OLED display for smartphone notifications. The Inspire HR comes with a heart rate sensor which tracks your heart rate at 5 seconds interval, though the interval changes to one second once it detects a workout.
The Fitbit Inspire is priced at USD 70 while the Fitbit Inspire HR is priced at USD 100.
The Fitbit Ace 2 is a fitness tracker for kids and hence comes with animated watch faces. It is water resistant up to 50meters and offers a 5-day battery backup. The Fitbit Ace 2 is basically a Fitbit Inspire with child-friendly animations and comes with child-friendly competitions which when won shows animations and offers virtual badges once goals are met.
The Ace 2 will be available in Watermelon/Teal and Night sky/Neon colour option. It is priced at USD 69.95 and will start retailing this summer.
