19 March 2019 4

The Chinese giant Oppo silently wraps off the cover from the mid-range AX5s in Taiwan. Most likely the device will be released in other regions as A5s. Most of the hardware specs of AX5s are similar to the last year's A5. Following the latest trend, it is featuring a full front-facing 6.2-inches display with a waterdrop notch.

The HD+ display aspect ratio is 19:9 and the screen resolution is 720 x 1520 pixels. On the rear side, you will get dual cameras, the primary sensor is 13MP with f/2.2 aperture whereas the secondary 2MP sensor is a depth-sensing module with f/2.4 aperture. The dual rear sensors are accompanied by LED flashlight. Up front the selfie snapper is 8MP.

The device is powered up by the MediaTek Octa-core Helio P35 chipset with max clocking at 2.3Ghz. The Octa-core chipset is accompanied by 3GB RAM and native storage is 64GB which can be further expanded using MicroSD up to 256GB.

As OS the device is pre-installed with Android Oreo 8.1 based ColorOS 5.2 skin. The device measurements are 155.9×75.4×8.2mm and weigh 170g. Unlike its predecessor, the AX5s comes with plain black instead of a diamond pattern.
