Xiaomi launches Mi Mural TV and new E-series Mi TVs in China

23 April 2019 3

As promised earlier, Xiaomi has announced its new range of smart LED TVs in China. These new TVs include an LG Wallpaper or Samsung’s Frame like LED TV called Mi Mural TV or Art TV. The company has also announced four new variants in the E-Series.

The product announcement was made by Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun through a post on Chinese social media site Weibo. The new E-Series TVs run on Xiaomi’s Patchwall OS, offer Dolby audio and DTS HD tuning for sound, up to 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, house a 1.5GHz processor and up to 16W of sound output. These TVs offer Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity and come with Bluetooth remotes.

The 32-inches Mi E32A HD TV is priced at CNY 1,099 and the 43-inches Mi E43A with the full-HD resolution is priced at CNY 1,099. While the 55-inch Mi E55C TV is priced at CNY 2,999 and the 65-inch Mi E65A is priced at CNR 3,999 and offers 4K resolution with HDR support.

The Mi Mural TV or Art TV comes in a single size option of 65-inches and looks inspired by LG’s Wallpaper TV or Samsung’s Frame TV. The new 4K-HDR TV comes in a super thin form factor and sticks to the wall like a painting. It is just 13.9mm in thickness and houses a 65-inches custom Samsung 4K display. The display is connected to the host which houses the speakers and motherboard via a MiPort power supply which houses 30 cables including high-power supply and high-resolution video signal wire.

It comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage and has 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.2, 3x HDMI ports and 2 x USB ports for connectivity. The price of this new Xiaomi Mi Mural TV is set at 6999 Yuan ($1042) and comes with free installation. Pre-orders start at 6 PM in China today.

Priced at just CNY 1,099 (roughly INR 11,500)... makes it almost the same as what Xiaomi sells it Redmi phones at. I mean, I got the Redmi Note 4 at INR 12,999.

But there's definitely some typo here unless Xiaomi has knowingly priced both TVs at the same price tag - the 32-inch Mi E32A HD TV comes at CNY 1099, while the 43-inches Mi E43A having full-HD resolution is priced CNY 1099 again.
