OnePlus 7 Pro official with 90Hz display, 12GB RAM, and triple cameras

14 May 2019 4

As expected through numerous leaks and multiple official teasers, the OnePlus 7 Pro has now been announced officially as OnePlus' most expensive flagship yet. It was launched alongside the standard OnePlus 7 which is relatively a lot more affordable but for the trade of missing out on all the fancy "Pro" features.

To start off, the OnePlus 7 Pro sports a 6.67-inch Quad HD+ (3120 x 1440 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display with the 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It is the high refresh rate which is the reason for referring it to as "Fluid" display. The flagship has a full-glass display with neither a notch nor a punch-hole camera. OnePlus has opted for pop-up selfie camera mechanism like the Oppo F11 Pro.

Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU and up to 12GB of RAM. The exact configuration variants include 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB options. All the variants come with UFS 3.0 storage which is significantly faster at reading and writing operations than the traditionally used UFS 2.1 storage.

OnePlus has opted for a triple rear camera setup on the OnePlus 7 Pro. This includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor with f/1.6 aperture, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor (up to 3x optical zoom) with f/2.4 aperture, and a 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor (117-degree FoV) with f/2.2 aperture. It has a 16-megapixel pop-up front camera with f/2.0 aperture which has been tested over 300,000 times for its durability.

The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 30W Warp fast charging. It will be running OxygenOS based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, NFC support, Bluetooth 5.0, facial recognition unlocking, and a dedicated game mode. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack this time either.

The OnePlus 7 Pro has been priced at $669 for 6GB/128GB, $699 for 8GB/256GB, and $749 for 12GB/256GB models. If you are from India, you will have to shell out INR 48,999; INR 52,999; and INR 57,999 for the three variants respectively. It will go on sale starting May 17th via select online and offline partners.
