Amazon has launched a new and refreshed Fire 7 tablet that succeeds the one unveiled last year. The differences between the two are not huge but they are good enough to consider buying the new model if you don't have the old one already. The new tablet comes with an undisclosed 1.3GHz processor which is said to be faster than the predecessor.
The all-new Amazon Fire 7 tablet now has twice the storage than the 2018 model. It means the base model now offers 16GB storage space instead of the meager 8GB. There is one more variant that comes with 32GB storage space. Both these variants offer microSD cards up to 512GB for storage expansion. It has also been increased as last year's model is compatible only with up to 256GB. The tablet also comes with hands-free Alexa support which means users can interact with the assistant via voice commands.
Other than these, the new Fire 7 remains more or less the same as the old one. It sports a 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution. It has 1GB of RAM along with a 2-megapixel camera on the front as well as on the back. The good thing is that the front sensor now supports 720p recording. Amazon is claiming a battery life of up to 7 hours on a single charge.
Amazon has kept the new Fire 7 price starting price the same which is $49.99. This makes it a good choice for kids or anyone looking for a device to read eBooks and watch some videos on the go but does not want to spend a lot. The 32GB variant will cost $69.99 if you are interested in that. It has been released in Black, Plum, Sage, and Twilight Blue color variants with sales starting June 6th. It is currently available for pre-orders via the Amazon website.
