21 May 2019 4

Honor 20 and the Honor 20 Pro smartphones are finally official and they bring some interesting features apart from just the high-end specifications. The main focus as you would have guessed is on the cameras on both the phones. Both the phones have quad rear cameras but they do have a little difference in the configuration of this setup.

Both the phones follow a new design that Honor calls Dynamic Holographic design and they both have 3D curved glass. While both the phones include quad rear cameras, it's the telephoto lens where they differ. The Pro model has an 8MP telephoto lens with the capability to do 3x zoom. On the other hand, Honor 20 has an only 2MP telephoto lens. They both are powered by 7nm-based Kirin 980 processor. And, they both also have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Also, Honor 20 smartphones will now support enhanced GPU Turbo 3.0 for better gaming performance. Both the phones have “Virtual 9.1 Surround Sound” that allows the user to hear where the sound is coming from. Honor has also introduced “AI frequency compensation” to reduce earphone irritation and fatigue.

Honor 20 Pro

The Honor Pro has a hole-punch display and includes a 48MP camera. It has a 6.26-inch Full-HD+ display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with a curved display that Honor calls 3D curved glass. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which is placed on the power button.

The punch-hole houses the 32MP selfie camera. On the back, the device includes a 48MP main camera with f/1.4 aperture, 16MP ultra-wide angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture which offers 3x the zoom, 5x hybrid zoom and 30x digital zoom with OIS and Laser autofocus, and a 2MP for taking macro shots with an f/2.4 aperture which supports 4cm macro photography.

It’s powered by Kirin 980 processor coupled with an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. According to the company, the device uses the graphene sheet cooling technology to keep the CPU temperature under control even when it’s under stress. It includes 4,000mAH battery with 22.5W charger. Honor claims the smartphone can be charged up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. The smartphone uses a USB Type-C port at the bottom and doesn't have a headphone jack.
