Intel Core i9-9900KS 5.0GHz octa-core processor announced

27 May 2019 2

Intel has officially announced new octa-core Core i9-9900KS processor ahead of the Computex 2019 keynote. It gave a preview of the processor with only a few crucial details revealed for now. All other details will be made official during the keynoted scheduled for tomorrow.

Intel Core i9-9900KS is a special edition processor which is essentially the same as the Core i9-9900K but with a few changes here and there. The biggest unique selling point for the new chipset is that it is capable of running at a 5.0GHz clock speed in both single-core and multi-core workloads. It means the boosted clock speed will not remain limited to just one core which is usually the case with processors.

If compared to the standard Core i9-9900K, the special edition processor has received a 300MHz increment in the boosted clock speed. The base clock speed has been increased by 10% which is 4.0GHz from 3.6GHz. It seems like the new processor is all set to become Intel's most powerful gaming processor yet.

As mentioned in the beginning, we will have more details about Intel Core i9-9900KS tomorrow. We will be sharing all the details including pricing and availability info once Intel makes it public.
