Facebook Portal companion app is now available to download on iOS and Android

30 May 2019 3

Facebook Portal began shipping a long time back but a controller that could offer more possibilities wasn’t made available. Well, now Facebook has launched this companion app for its home video communications device so that you could do more. With the help of this app, you can make video calls to your loved ones while you’re out. That could come out as a good option for caretakers to know about what their kids or pets are doing, or to see who is around the house.

The Portal companion app also allows you to add and remove accounts on the device and manage who’s in your speed dial Favorites.

You can also send photos to the Superframe right from your phone’s camera roll.

Facebook announced at f8 that such app is coming and along with this it also promised to bring Amazon Prime Video or Smart home controls. While we are seeing the companion app on both iOS and Android, the other promised possibilities haven’t been made available yet.

If you own this Portal device then it becomes mandatory to install this app. So, use the links provided below on your phones and start making use of all those features of the app. And those who don’t have this device can get it for $199 for the 10-inch Portal and $349 for 15.6-inch Portal+.
