Meizu has launched a new mid-range smartphone named Meizu 16Xs at an event held in China. It is the same phone which was making rounds of the rumor mill for quite some time. Many of those leaked or rumored details have turned out to be true as Meizu is aiming to attract buyers by offering select modern trending features on a budget.
The Meizu 16Xs sports a 6.2-inch Full HD+ (2232 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with bare minimum bezels and no notch. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. It has been released in two configuration options where RAM size remains the same but internal storage can be selected from 64GB and 128GB.
The smartphone features a triple rear camera setup starring 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL sensor as the primary camera. The other two cameras include an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 aperture. You will find a 16-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture on the front.
The whole package is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. On the software front, it is running Flyme OS 7 based on Android 9 Pie. It is the newest phone in the market to ditch 3.5mm headphone jack. Other features include USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5.0, and dual VoLTE support. The 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB models have been priced at CNY 1,698 and CNY 1,998 respectively with sales starting June 10th.
